THE FOUR FINALIST FOR PAPD CHIEF

Once again, Port Arthur is forced to eat another city's scraps when it comes to personnel. Our latest victim is with the race for "Top Cop" position in Port Arthur. It appears that the company, Strategic Government Resources have given us five finalist that are either criminals, a part of an old regime that contributed to low employee morale, or a sexual predator. This explains why citizens need to be involved in every aspect in local government. The city should demand this firm refund tax payer's money and the hiring should be left up to council since the City Manager can't do his job.

We have problems with the following P.A. Police Chief candidates:

1. Jesus Eddie Campa - allegedly indicted for embezzling 5.6 million dollars from Homeland Security Investigative funds. Also arrested by the FBI.

2. Henry Porretto - who resigned as Galveston police chief, is accused of promising a promotion to a female officer in return for sexual favors.

3. Patrick Melvin - Resigned after being placed on administrative leave. Further investigation shows that his admin leave maybe do to Mr. Melvin constant search for better positions.

4. Jeff Fants - part of an old, dying regime during the climate of change. Local police unions done a survey which showed the current leadership received low marks in moral and expressed that leadership, including Fants, didn't value their input.

This process is turning out to be a clown show in Port Arthur. I don't know how a staffing agency can miss something as obvious as this. Surely they can go to google and locate this information. I don't know if they are trying to flood the finalist with poor applicants so that the CM can elect the one "good" candidate?

I'm so disgusted with this city and it's willingness to hire crooked cops that I have no words.The questions comes is asked whether there will be any local candidates? Just my opinion is that we may only have one good local candidate. My belief as to why we don't have local candidates is because this city and county are corrupt. When the city manager was hired he was told a lot of people are corrupt. Now on the flip side he has aligned himself to people that are deemed corrupt so this process needs to be taken out of his hands. I never seen so many allegedly corrupt cops in my life…..References
