THE PORT ARTHUR NEWS

Over the past few weeks there has been allot of talk about the Port Arthur News and its editor, Rich Macke. I personally know that he and HIS newspaper have been very critical of councilmembers who truly represent the people of this city and not special interests. His disdain for Harold Doucet, Raymond Scott, Willie Bae Lewis and others can be seen by anyone who has read his opinions published in the paper over the last few years.

Mr Macke and HIS newspaper has also made it clear that they will support anything, initiated by PAC funded councilmembers and former Senator Carl Parker. Call it freedom of speech, freedom of the press or whatever you like. I call it propaganda and manipulation at its best. It is time that the city of Port Arthur and the Port Arthur news part ways. We should no longer subsidize this newspaper via contracts paid for with our tax dollars.
